He has long been engaged in the research and clinical application of tissue-engineered trachea, clinical and basic research on lung transplantation and lung repair, optimization and basic research on early-stage lung cancer surgical clinical diagnosis and treatment pathways, as well as the application of artificial intelligence and multi-omics approaches in the diagnosis, treatment, and clinical translation of lung cancer.

The corresponding author and co-corresponding author have collectively published over 170 SCI-indexed papers with a cumulative impact factor of 1,233.0; these publications include journals such as J Clin Oncol (IF = 50.7), Mol Cancer (IF = 41.4), Signal Transduct Target Ther (IF = 38.1), Eur Respir J (IF = 33.7), Radiology (IF = 29.1), J Thorac Oncol (IF = 20.1), Adv Funct Mater (IF = 19.9), JAMA Surg (IF = 16.6), and JAMA Netw Open (IF = 13.3). As the primary contributor, the author was honored with the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award in 2018, the First Prize of the Shanghai Anti-Cancer Science and Technology Award in 2019, and the Second Prize of the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award in 2020. The team has secured one project under the National Key R&D Program of China, one key-supported project under the Major Research Plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one Major Research Plan (Cultivation Project), and two General Research Projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The team currently comprises nine faculty members, including 40 doctoral students and 17 master's students. The team has led three Outstanding Young Scientists Fund projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, nine General Research Project projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than 30 provincial or ministerial-level research projects.
