Zhou Caicun

Currently serves as Director of the Cancer Research Institute and Head of the Department of Oncology at the Tongji University School of Medicine; recognized as a Shanghai Leading Talent and recipient of the Special Government Allowance from the State Council; Member of the Education Committee and the Tobacco Control Committee of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC); Standing Committee Member of the Lung Cancer Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Standing Committee Member of the Oncology Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Executive Committee Member of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO); Vice Chairperson of the Oncology Branch of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association; Member of the Shanghai Thoracic Surgery Society and the Shanghai Oncology Society; Associate Editor-in-Chief of the journal *Lung Cancer*; Editor-in-Chief of *Translational Lung Cancer Research*; Standing or Regular Editorial Board Member for over 10 journals including *Journal of Thoracic Disease*, *Thoracic Oncology*, and *Chinese Journal of Oncology*; Review Expert for the Ministry of Health.

He received his Ph.D. from China Medical University in 2001. In 1990 and 1994, he was awarded the Sasakawa Medical Scholarship twice to undertake research training at the National Tokyo Hospital in Japan. In 2002, he served as a visiting scholar at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States. He has frequently moderated or delivered keynote speeches at international academic conferences, including the World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, he specializes in the early diagnosis of lung cancer, targeted therapy, comprehensive treatment approaches, and personalized therapy.

He has served as principal investigator for three General Program projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as one each of the National High-Tech Research and Development Program (863 Program), the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission's Mountaineering Initiative, the Major Nano-Technology Special Project, the Shanghai Emerging Frontier Science and Technology Project, and the Major Scientific Research Key Projects; he has also participated in one key research project under the "11th Five-Year Plan" initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and several key research projects supported by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission; he has engaged in more than 200 international academic exchanges; he has participated in or led over 50 multicenter clinical trials for new drug development, both domestically and internationally; he has published more than 300 research papers, including over 100 SCI-indexed articles in journals such as The Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Annals of Oncology; he holds five national invention patents; he has been awarded the Second-Class Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award three times, the First-Class Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award once, the Second-Class Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award once, and the First-Class Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award once; in 2006, he was selected for the second batch of Outstanding Discipline Leadership Projects by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission; and he has served as chief editor or primary translator for five monographs.
