He Wenxin

PhD in Surgery; Chief Physician, Department of Thoracic Surgery, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital; Associate Professor of Surgery and Doctoral Supervisor at Tongji University; Postdoctoral Research Advisor. Currently serves as a member of the Lung Transplantation Working Group under the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Editorial Board Member of the Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation; Member of the Organ Transplantation Special Committee of the Chinese Society of Rehabilitation Medicine; Youth Committee Member of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association; and Youth Committee Member of the Thoracic Surgery Branch of the China Medical Promotion Association.

With over 20 years of clinical experience in thoracic surgery, the surgeon specializes in employing single-port thoracoscopic techniques and open surgical approaches for the treatment of early-to-intermediate-stage or surgically resectable locally advanced pulmonary malignancies, as well as benign pulmonary diseases and various mediastinal disorders. The surgeon is particularly skilled in the early diagnosis of lung cancer, the diagnosis and management of ground-glass nodules (or opacities) and other pulmonary nodules; proficient in performing lung transplantation for end-stage pulmonary disease; and experienced in the surgical management of airway disorders such as tracheal tumors and stenosis. From June 2011 to June 2012, the surgeon participated in a visiting fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital to specialize in thoracic oncology and tracheal surgery techniques.

He has long been engaged in both clinical and basic research on lung transplantation and has led six research projects funded by various sources, including the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. His research on the surgical treatment of end-stage pulmonary diseases was awarded the Second Prize of the 2012 Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. As the first or corresponding author, he has published more than 30 academic papers in renowned journals such as J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg, Eur J Cardiothorac Surg, and Annals of Surgical Oncology. He has also contributed to the compilation of several monographs, including "Thoracic Surgery," the second and third editions of "Diagnosis and Decision-Making for Complex Thoracic Surgical Conditions," and "Thoracic Surgical Techniques."
