Specializes in the surgical treatment and comprehensive management of complex urological disorders, particularly prostate tumors. Holds the following positions: Standing Committee Member of the Urology Branch, Chinese Medical Association; Standing Committee Member of the Urology Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Deputy Leader of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Group, Urology Branch, Chinese Medical Association; Vice Chairperson of the Urology Branch, China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Healthcare; Vice Chairperson of the Urology Professional Committee, China Primary Health Care Foundation; Executive Council Member of the 37th Council of the Shanghai Medical Association; Chairman of the Urology Branch, Shanghai Medical Association; Vice Chairperson of the Urologic Oncology Professional Committee, Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association; Director of the Shanghai Urology Clinical Quality Control Center; and Vice Dean of the Institute of Medical Equipment and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

He has long been engaged in clinical and basic research on urogenital system tumors, particularly prostate tumors. He was among the first in China to perform robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery and possesses profound expertise in the surgical treatment of prostate tumors, renal cell carcinoma, and bladder tumors. Concurrently, he has conducted systematic and in-depth research on the molecular mechanisms underlying the progression, metastasis, and drug resistance of prostate cancer, as well as on targeted intervention strategies, yielding a series of significant research outcomes. He has published over 150 academic papers in total, including more than 100 papers indexed in SCI (49 papers with an impact factor ≥5, and 20 papers with an impact factor ≥10).

Currently, he is leading four General Program grants under the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has contributed to the compilation of eight Chinese expert consensus documents on the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. He has also collaborated on a series of in-depth research projects with world-class urological centers, including the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. His achievements have been recognized with awards such as the First Prize for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements by the Ministry of Education, the First Prize for Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, and the Baosteel Education Award. He has been selected as a Shanghai Leading Talent, a Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader, a Shanghai Medical Leading Talent, and a Shanghai Master Craftsman.
