Chen Litian

Member of the First Expert Committee of the China Organ Transplantation Development Foundation; Member of the Shanghai Professional Committee of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Member of the Reviewer Pool for the National Natural Science Foundation of China; Reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China; Invited peer reviewer for multiple journals including the Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation, Journal of China Medical University, and Chinese Journal of Clinical Physicians. In 2003, after obtaining his Ph.D. from China Medical University, he was assigned to the Oriental Organ Transplantation Center at Tianjin First Central Hospital—Asia's largest organ transplantation center—for eight years, engaging in clinical liver transplantation practice. In June 2011, he was recruited by Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (affiliated to Xinhua Hospital) to establish the Liver Transplantation Department, where he served as Administrative Director. To date, he has dedicated 15 years to clinical, research, and teaching activities in liver transplantation. He performed the first combined hepato-renal resection surgery using an organ donor at Xinhua Hospital and conducted the first liver transplantation procedure led by a surgeon at Xinhua Hospital. He has personally performed over 800 deceased and living liver transplantation surgeries and participated in the completion of more than 1,500 liver transplantation procedures.

Over the past three years, he has averaged performing over 300 radical surgical procedures for liver, biliary tract, pancreatic, gastric, and intestinal tumors annually. He possesses extensive experience in performing complex surgeries such as laparoscopic segmental liver resection and radical gastrectomy for gastrointestinal cancer. He has been awarded two Third-Class Provincial/Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards and has participated in various national and provincial-level research projects, including the Second-Class National Science and Technology Progress Award project on the clinical application and research of liver transplantation. The first author has published over 30 academic papers in Chinese series and core journals, participated in compiling certain chapters of *Chinese Journal of Liver Transplantation* and *Handbook of Liver Transplantation*, and translated portions of the *Atlas of Organ Transplantation Surgery*. The first author and corresponding author have published more than 10 SCI-indexed articles. The author has undertaken advanced training in living-donor liver transplantation techniques at internationally renowned centers for living-donor liver transplantation, including Kyoto University (Japan), Queen Mary Hospital (Hong Kong), and Asan Medical Center (South Korea).
