Clinically, he specializes in the integrated diagnosis and treatment of refractory cough and asthma, bronchiectasis, lung injury repair, pulmonary nodules, lung cancer, and refractory tuberculosis-nontuberculous mycobacterial diseases using both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. He has conducted research on the mechanism by which traditional Chinese medicine compound formulas mediate the regulation of the intracellular clearance of pathogenic microorganisms by the innate immune system, and constructed multiple in vivo and in vitro models for asthma, MRSA/H1N1 infection, etc. He has developed 5 clinical prescriptions and conducted 11 registered randomized controlled trials (RCTs). He has led his team in undertaking nearly 30 research projects, including leading 4 national major projects, 1 sub-project/task project of a major project, 7 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and 15 provincial and ministerial-level projects.
