Specializes in long-term research on hepatopancreatic transplantation, hepatopancreatic tissue engineering, and hepatobiliary-pancreatic tumors; proficient in liver transplantation, hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, robotic pancreatic surgery, and retroperitoneal tumor surgery.

Professor Peng Chenghong serves as an editorial board member or special invited editorial board member for 10 medical journals, including the Chinese Journal of Medicine, Chinese Journal of Surgery, Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery, and Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine. Additionally, he holds positions as a judge for the National Science and Technology Progress Award nominated by the Ministry of Education, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Shanghai Municipal Government Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Shanghai Municipal Clinical Medical Achievement Award. He has been awarded the Second Class National Science and Technology Progress Award twice (as the second and fifth contributing author, respectively) and the Second Class National Technological Invention Award once (as the second contributing author). He holds three patents and has published over 300 research articles, more than 50 of which are indexed in SCI. In 2012, he was listed among the "Top 100 Renowned Physicians in China – Cholecystic and Biliary Surgery" category on the China Top 100 Renowned Physicians List.
