Wu Jiong

The department has long been dedicated to the surgical treatment of breast cancer and plastic reconstruction techniques, with a particular focus on breast reconstruction surgery and breast-conserving procedures; it possesses extensive experience in the comprehensive, standardized diagnosis and management of breast cancer. Research interests include identifying molecular biomarkers for the early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of breast cancer, as well as optimizing and promoting surgical techniques for breast tumors. The department actively promotes and standardizes the implementation of breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and breast reconstruction procedures to enhance both the therapeutic outcomes and the quality of life for breast cancer patients.

He serves as the Executive Director of the Breast Cancer Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Chairman of the 9th Committee of the Breast Cancer Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Standing Committee Member and Head of the Breast Oncology Group of the 12th Committee of the Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Vice Chairperson of the Breast Cancer Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO); Vice President of the 2nd Committee of the Oncology Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Deputy Leader of the Breast Surgery Group of the 18th Committee of the Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Future Chairman of the 11th Committee of the Shanghai Medical Association's Oncology Specialized Branch; Standing Council Member of the 9th Council of the Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association; and Honorary Chairman of the Breast Cancer Professional Committee of the Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association.

Has published over 100 SCI-indexed papers as both first author and corresponding author; participated in the compilation of works such as *Advances in Modern Breast Oncology* and *Breast Oncology*. Has led numerous research projects, including those funded by the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), the Shanghai Municipal Health System Outstanding Discipline Leader Program, the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology's EU Cooperation Special Project, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission International Cooperation Project, the Clinical Science and Technology Innovation Project of the Shanghai Shenkang Hospital Development Center, the National Key R&D Program of China, and the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission Outstanding Academic Leader Program.

In 2004, he was awarded the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (for clinical and basic research on breast cancer) as the third contributor; in 2002 and 2003, he received the Second Prize of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award twice as the third contributor; he was awarded the Third Prize of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award twice as a principal participant; in 2012, he was named the first contributor to the Third Prize of the Shanghai Municipal Medical Achievement Award. He has been honored with various accolades, including being among the first recipients of the "New Star in Medicine" award by the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, recognized as an Advanced Worker by the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, honored as a "Century Star" by Fudan University, awarded the "Silver Snake Award" by the Shanghai Municipal Health System, granted the Sackler Chinese Physician Award, and honored with the "National Distinguished Physician – Outstanding Exemplary Role Model Award." He has also been recognized as a "Shanghai Science and Technology Rising Star," selected for the "Dawn Plan" by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and included in the "Outstanding Academic Leadership Program" by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
